Workers’ Comp Assembly Bill

Today, Assemblymember Tom Daly (D-Anaheim), Chairman of the Assembly Insurance Committee, introduced AB 1749, a bill AOCDS is proudly sponsoring. AB 1749 would clarify that fully-sworn peace officers can file a claim for workers’ compensation benefits if, while in the midst of pursuit, apprehension, protection or preservation of life or property within or out of the state, the officer suffers injury, disability or death.

AOCDS Partners with UCI’s Paul Merage School of Business

The Association of Orange County Deputy Sheriffs is excited to announce its partnership with the University of California, Irvine Paul Merage School of Business. This collaboration will meet two needs: it will help our deputies and D.A. investigators better prepare for retirement through a series of investing courses provided by UCI and it will allow an underserved incoming ninth or tenth grader in one of our 13 contract cities to take part in the LIFEvest Financial Literacy Program.

AOCDS and OCSD Collaborate on Massive Donation for Texas Flood Relief

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD) and the Association of Orange County Deputy Sheriffs (AOCDS) are collaborating on a major donation to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) in Houston, Texas. Thanks to donor Paul Musco of SKITS, LLC in Santa Ana, the two agencies were able to fill a 26-foot box truck with public safety equipment and emergency supplies to be delivered directly to the HCSO.

AOCDS Holds Chili’s Fundraiser to Benefit Memorial Fund

From ordering Baby Back Ribs to giving back, the Association of Orange County Deputy Sheriffs is holding a Give Back Night at two Orange County Chili’s locations to benefit the AOCDS Memorial Fund. On Tuesday, August 22nd, patrons are invited to come to Chili’s Grill & Bar in Aliso Viejo and Yorba Linda between the hours of 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. When diners present the attached flyer, 15% of every bill (including take-out orders) will go towards the AOCDS Memorial Fund.
